Research: Louis XIV

Image
For our next project we were given two historical figures in which we could develop an illustrated narrative based upon. One of my two figures was Louis XIV. The first stage of the project Is to do some in depth research into the figure, this is what I have done so far.  I have chosen to do combined digital collecting of information and imagery as well as creating physical pages in my sketchbook because I feel both help to develop ideas in different ways. Digital collections of images help me to really gather tons and tons of visual information which I couldn't possibly manage in a physical format.  I will update this same post as I continue my research, keeping it all in one place.

I think its readable as well which is really important.  There are things that I would do differently if I was to re-create this piece however; for example, I feel that the really scruffy construction of the actual box takes away some of the readability of this story. I also think that if I had more time, adding more deta...
