Steve's Brief- Gluestick Poetry
In this one day brief we were tasked with taking a random page from a book and transforming it into a visual that is relevant to one or more words on the page.
One of the pages out of the 5 that I got was quite adult in nature, and the other quite sarcastic.
I started with creating some thumbnails. These make sense to me but are not very readable
What I aimed to achieve here was a suggestive image around fairly innocent words. There was some parts of this text that were a lot more literal and graphic, but I felt it was more effective to use suggestion. The flower was supposed to suggest female shapes, but only subtly, and the second well, its fairly obvious. I feel this second one may have been TOO obvious, but the two artworks look good when put side by side.
I definitely could have done more for this one day project and I think it is my weakest result out of the one day projects so far. Because of this, I am going to try to return to it and create some more. I think the reason I struggled so much with this task was because I didn't fully understand the brief at first and I am quite easily distracted when working around others, something I need to work on. Overall I think I've made a good start but it could have been much stronger.
